This Family Anchor wood plaque is fast becoming one of our favorites. Its clean classic wood plaque looks with its multicolored Tempera Paint truly makes this wood plaque sign an eye-catcher. The graphics are designed in-house so you won't find anything just like it anywhere!

The wood sign/plaque has a simple frame and a black vinyl anchor with the word "family" replacing the shaft of the anchor. The base is white-washed with acrylic paint. The vinyl sits on a multi-colored Tempera Paint background that has an abstract look. All contained in the perfect edges of the vinyl letter outline, making this wood plaque a totally unique piece.

It was made in multiple stages starting with a simple white-washing of the background. Then a stenciled version of the graphics was applied to shape the Tempera Paint. The paint was applied using small spray bottles which created a random pattern. The paint was then allowed to drip and blend creating multiple layers of beautiful colors. The stencil was then removed, and the Tempera Paint was smoothed and allowed to dry. Then the black vinyl was applied to create the crisp clean lines. The whole plaque was then clear coated with multiple non-yellowing layers to seal the wood, paint, and vinyl to allow for a lifetime of enjoyment. This was not an easy one to make!
